Ballantine’s Scotch whisky and Boiler Room have announced a new global platform called "True Music" featuring Maya Jane Coles for "celebrating and supporting pioneering artists known for making music born from passion without compromise".
2 years after Boiler Room & Ballantine’s first association under the launch of the "Stay True Journeys" project whose aim was to "discover and celebrate the stories of the world’s most vibrant music scenes – from the characters who defined them, to the pioneers that are driving them forwards" they joining forces again under a new platform called "True Music".
Five months, 3 countries and as many collaborations
For this first edition they have decided to partner with critically acclaimed & globally renowned underground DJ & producer Maya Jane Coles. The platform will feature the english DJ & producer travelling across South Africa, Russia and Spain over the next five months. Within each of these countries, major live streamed events and contents will be produced, allowing the world to tune in and see Maya' work with these local artists.
The first stop on Maya’s journey is Johannesburg, where local house legend Culoe De Song will be remixing a track from her upcoming 2017 album. Every artist has been handpicked by Maya Jane Coles as her favourite "True Music' artists" as they "epitomise the philosophy of True Music in their work ".The resulting EP will be a "True Music EP" limited-edition vinyl and digital release.
BOILER ROOM Live events included
For her first stop in Johannesburg on the 24th of November, Maya Jane Coles and Culoe De Song will also be headlining Boiler Room and Ballantine's True Music broadcast, alongside François K and Karizma, as well as local favourites Black Motion and Thulani the Warrior venues.
Ahead Of Her Highly Anticipated 2nd Album, Maya Jane Coles Will then travel to Moscow in February and the show will culminate in Madrid for early 2017 with a 2,000 capacity event.
