In a statement posted via social medias, Ultra Music Festival announced leaving Miami for a new location in South Florida without naming the city chosen yet.

After acknowledging that the 2019 edition held in Virginia Key island was a failure not up to the expectations of festival-goers, Ultra Music Festival announced its voluntarily relinquishing of their license with the City of Miami, leading the festival to leave immediately for a new location that will be a “permanent home” in South Florida without naming the city chosen.  You can read Ultra Music Festival’s full statement below.

Ultra Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale?

With attendance of over 200,000 festivalgoers from more than 150 countries worldwide, Ultra Music Festival must be able to offer an organization that lives up to its success.

This implies a logistics up to par, this implies first of all an airport of a size sufficient to accommodate the international flights of several countries of the world and already, after Miami there is only one in the south of Florida: Fort Lauderdale.

South Florida's second-largest airport behind Miami International Airport with 26,941,511 passengers in 2015, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport experienced a 9.4% increase over 2014, which makes it one of the four US airports with the fastest growth in terms of passenger traffic.

Currently ranked 22nd in terms of passenger traffic in the United States, FLL is experiencing significant growth (+18%) in international traffic. These figures, added to existing tourism infrastructure, suggest that Fort Lauderdale would be the perfect destination for Ultra Music Festival. More information once the process is finalized.
