American DJ & producer Seth Troxler has announced that he'll be tackling the dizzying heights of Tanzania's Mt Kilimanjaro to raise funds for brain cancer, as part of Charlie Teo's Million $ Mission initiative.

The Michigan-based artist will climb the mountain on Friday 15th July along with nine other successful entrepreneurs (Seth Troxler runs his own restaurant "Smokey Tails" as well as having run record labels in the past) with the primary aim of raising $1 million between them — $100,000 each — for the Australian Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. The climb has been organised under the purview of Million$Mission, which was founded by professor Teo, an Australian neurosurgeon and prominent activist for cancer research as you can learn in the video below.

" If each of my fans donated 25p, I could reach my goal and if each donated £1 we could raise four times over that would go towards saving lives. " - Seth Troxler

The ultimate aim for the raised funds will be to donate to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation to help their mission to increase five-year survival rates from 20 per cent, its current position, to 50 per cent by 2023. The improvement of such outlooks — and raising of these funds — is inescapably important, as brain cancer kills more Australian children than any other disease, while costing more per patient than any other type of cancer.

With the survival rate having remained stagnant at 20 per cent for the past 30 years, and the disease receiving minimal funding from the National Health & Medical Research Council, if anything is going to get Troxler to the top of that 5896-meters-tall mountain — the world's highest free-standing natural formation — it will be the people's support.
