Robbie Rivera vs Tom Staar - The Funkatron

Tom Staar strikes again ! Skillfully transitioning one of the most eagerly anticipated Axtone releases of recent times, remixing the Miami’s finest producer, Robbie Rivera’ legendary track “The Funkatron” into a true dancefloor-destroyer. This is the perfect example of Tom Staar’s ability to tastefully flip this club classic, incorporating propulsive synths and booming drums, perfectly suiting it for release amongst Axtone Records’ exciting year ahead.

An instantly recognisable club classic, “The Funkatron” heralds back to the golden era of the Subliminal Records imprint, and one of Robbie’s first major breakthroughs into the dance music world. Fresh off a Bob Sinclar collaboration, Robbie Rivera continues to further his tribal-influenced sound, since appearing on Axtone in 2015 via his single “Falling Deeper” featuring Shawnee Taylor. Aside from his imminently pending album, this track is a clear representation of Robbie’s foresight as a producer and DJ in all things House.

Returning to Axtone from last year’s Miami weapon “Bora“, UK genius producer Tom Staar looks towards an exciting year, consisting of an appearance at Axtone’s Tomorrowland stage and a forthcoming NEW_ID collaboration. Joining forces with Axtone favourite Kryder to launch their new label Cartel Records, 2016 marks a new era for Tom Staar, blending his deep rooted house music sensibilities with flawless big room productions.

Released on Axtone Records, “The Funkatron” is available now on Beatport.
