After he had been solicited by a seriously ill fan, Eric Prydz has honored his promise and raised money for charity in his memory.
Last November, Eric Prydz's fan James Lillo shared his heart-wrenching story of being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer but wanting to see Eric Prydz perform one last time. Tragically, James passed away before the show’s date. Deeply affected by the news, Eric Prydz elected to turn the show into a fundraiser, with all proceeds from the event going to James’ charity of choice, the Cancer Research Institute.
His battle and story have affected me deeply, now more than ever I wish to play this event to raise money for his charity and honor his memory. - Eric Prydz
The fundraiser proved wildly successful, with Prydz throwing two successive sold-out nights at Sound Nightclub on December 17th & 18th in Hollywood and the benefit shows raised a tremendous $60,000 for cancer research as Prydz shared the news on Twitter :
Thanks to all who bought tickets & donated for James. We raised $60K+ for Cancer Research Institute. I think we have all made a difference. - Eric Prydz
