After being premiered last 1th December on Channel 4, the 45-minute documentary, collaboration between RA and Channel 4 “Carl Cox: Space Is The Place” is now available to watch.

Carl Cox is a dance music titan. For the best part of 40 years, the UK DJ has been one of the most recognisable figures in house and techno, as famous for his toothy grin and boundless energy as his blistering sets. He’s popular the world over, but nowhere more so than the Spanish island of Ibiza, where he held a record-breaking residency every summer for the past 15 years.

That all came to an end in September 2016, when Space, the club that was home to Carl Cox’s “Music Is Revolution” party, shut for good. The closure marked the end of an era for the techno legend, but also for Ibiza, which lost one of its best-loved venues at a time when flashy VIP culture looms ever larger over the scene.

Resident Advisor’s films Carl Cox: Space Is The Place” follows Carl Cox across the 2016 season in Ibiza, from the “Music Is Revolution” opening in June through to the closing in September. It offers a behind-the-scenes perspective on a pivotal moment in clubbing history, and a window into Carl Cox’s life, inside and outside the DJ booth.

It’s the story of a clubbing icon coming to terms with the next phase of his career, and of a clubbing island facing up to an uncertain future. Space, the club that was home to Music Is Revolution party, shut for good in October of 2016. The closure marked the end of an era for Cox, but also for Ibiza, which lost one of its best-loved venues at a time when VIP culture looms ever-larger over the scene.
