On 16th April 2021, Defected Records will host a special Ibiza edition of its PRESS.PLAY livestream DJ sets series on Twitch in aid of the Ibiza Food Bank.
After running parties on the island for over two decades, Defected got a long history on the island, the label will leverage their livestream capabilities to raise funds for people in need on the island.
The Ibiza Food Bank has been a lifeline for many families who live on the white island and many of them have been impacted by the pandemic, therefore this special edition of PRESS.PLAY hopes to raise awareness for this vital service.
During the last months, Defected Records can be proud to have been able to raised $1.2 million dollars for the WHO’s COVID-19 response fund and £89,930 for Mind among other charitable causes.
Ibiza flavored & Ibiza lovers lineup
This Ibiza special edition of PRESS.PLAY will feature DJs based in Ibiza such as Danny Rampling (from our London HQ), Roger Sanchez (from Miami) and David Penn (from Malaga) will join the stream, accompanied by Jason Bye, Andy Baxter, Manu Gonzales & Melon Bomb, to play DJ sets from iconic Ibiza venues that have laid empty for the last twelve months.
While Manu Gonzales will livestream from Eden’ rooftop, offering an epic view of San Antonio Bay iconic sunset, Melon Bomb will play their set from The Wild Corner at Hï Ibiza (the world’s most exciting club toilets !), and Jason Bye and Andy Baxter will offer viewers an exclusive preview of Eden’s revamped main room during their b2b set.
Developed as genre non-conforming space for DJs to flex their musical muscles, the PRESS.PLAY series has already pull in over 2 million views across the four previous streams. Building on the success of Defected’s award-winning live stream series Defected Virtual Festival and We Dance As One, which attracted over 60 million viewers, Twitch’s interactivity and participation elements make PRESS.PLAY a unique live stream offering.
Helping Ibiza community & charities
During the livestream, viewers will be prompted to donate to Ibiza Food Bank which its mission is is to create a community of volunteers across the island who’re collecting food, coordinate donations, volunteer on local farms, man collection points or work in the food bank itself.
The food Ibiza Food Bank volunteers collect will be prepared and donated to their charity partners – Ibiza Preservation, Ibiza Produce, The Red Cross, Caritas & Doctors of the World. By supporting the farmers, they can continue planting crops and donating a proportion to The Ibiza Food bank, which will ensure people in need receive fresh healthy balanced food.
