Tim Bergling Foundation

Today, April 20th, 2019, one year to the day after the death of Avicii, see the launch of The Tim Bergling Foundation founded by Tim's family that intends to make good use of their 22.4 million euros hefty legacy.

“ Tim wanted to make a difference — starting a foundation in his name is our way to honor his memory and continue to act in his spirit. ”

- Bergling's family

The foundation's goal is to educate the public about suicide prevention and to raise funds to help organizations helping people with mental illnesses. The family also hopes to address issues of climate change, development assistance and nature conservation and endangered species - which was also sensitive topics for Tim.

Perpetuate Tim' philanthropic thought

Not only one of the best DJs in the world with his hits like Wake Me Up, Levels or Addicted to You, Avicii - whose fortune was estimated at 75 million euros by Forbes - has also shown great generosity to charities. In 2012, he organized a twenty-seven-date tour and raised a million dollars for House for Hunger, an American food aid organization.

" When I started making money, I realized I did not really need it, when you make so much money you do not need it, the most sensible thing, the most humane and the most obvious thing, is to give it to people in need. "

- Tim Bergling

A year later, Radiohjälpen, a Swedish association that helps the poor, receives an equivalent donation from the artist. A philanthropic thought that the Bergling family will try to perpetuate through their founding.

The Bergling's family is releasing a set of songs which Tim was working on before his death. The remaining songs comprising Avicii's final album, Tim, will also be released sometime this year. The lead single, "SOS" featuring Aloe Blacc, arrived last week.
