In full glory, at ease with his status of international star, he had decided to stay away from the spotlight.
A spotify milestone
In February 2014, Wake Me Up, the DJ's hit, broke all records on the Swedish music streaming service Spotify, becoming the most-watched song, with more than 200 million listeners online. The boss of the platform, Daniel Ek, writes on Twitter:
" The words can not express the sadness that I feel when I hear that Avicii has left us far too soon. I am grateful for the short time we have had on Earth. "
- Daniel Ek
Spotify was also proposing, friday evening, a playlist" This is Avicii ", containing 49 songs of the artist, which totaled more than 500,000 subscribers in less than 24 hours.
Avicii's message to remember
Last year, he posted the following statement on his website :
“ We all reach a point in our lives and careers where we understand what matters the most to us. For me it’s creating music. That is what I live for, what I feel I was born to do. Last year I quit performing live, and many of you thought that was it. But the end of live never meant the end of Avicii or my music. Instead, I went back to the place where it all made sense – the studio. The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do. ”
- Avicii
Avicii's death leaves his fans and electronic music artists in shock, several agents, managers and people working in this industry wish that this tragedy is the opportunity to finally talk about the difficulties and excesses when working in this industry in order to avoid new tragedies.
